Intensive Therapeutics is pleased to announce the beginning of a 6 week Soccer Program for children with special needs. The program will focus on practicing individual soccer skills as well as the social skills needed to be a part of a team. Occupational therapists, familiar with the social and motor challenges relevant to many children with special needs, will oversee the program to be able to adjust to the individual needs of each child. Therapists will collaborate with Daniel Cartwright, an OT Aide at Intensive Therapeutics, who is a former college soccer player and High School soccer coach. Peer-mentors from Scotch Plains and Fanwood as well as the boys and girls soccer teams of Verona High School are involved to help with these programs. Some children may need more help, others may need much less. All parents will be oriented to the program during the free screening/informational session.
